The spectator shuffles a stack of number cards, then deals however many she wishes (at least a dozen to ensure a fair selection) onto the table. The rest of the cards are returned to the case, which contains a folded lotto ticket tucked behind the cellophane wrapper.
The spectator deals six sets of cards, like in a poker game. The magician collects the top cards from each pile, and the rest are put into the case with the others.
Without revealing the faces, the magician openly rearranges the six remaining number cards into ascending order.
The spectator removes the Lotto ticket and reads each number aloud. The number cards are revealed - they match the prediction on the ticket!
The magician tells the spectator to read the lucky PowerBall number on the ticket. There is none. The magician tells her to choose any number she likes. She does so. The magician removes and spreads the remaining cards. One card is turned face-up. It matches the number she named!
